Hometown Poem

Missing the spring of my hometown

the land becomes a sea of blossoming rape plants

flowers are filled in the air

the children play in the flowers

distant smoke rises

the old man shouts the child to go home for dinner

Time is slowing down

when the night fall 

it’s the most relaxing time in the day

People watch the night sky

and chat together

grandma told us about the ancient legend

Song Memory

Clouds over My Hometown

       This song expresses homesickness. Before I was born, this song had become quite famous in China. However, the song really touched me for the first time, It happened in the recent. When I heard it on the TV, I shed tears. Now,  after I grew up and far away my hometown, I have started to understand this song’s meaning and weight. 

      Hometown is a soft place in everyone’s heart. When people are young, they are longing for the outsider world. They have to leave hometown, and to fulfill their dreams. However, hometown is special place for me which can give me comfort and peace. In my memory, my hometown’s sky and clouds are beautiful.
