Nelson’s Dream tells the story of Nelson, who finished his studies in Britain and goes back to his hometown, southern Africa. His dream is making his hometown better. However, later he discovers a very harsh reality that a lot of people are HIV positive in Africa. Many people died from this disease, and more and more orphans appear. The government doesn’t provide any help and relief. Nelson wants to help the AIDS patients, At last he decides to start a center to help people prevent it.

  My rating to this book is four stars out of five. This is warm and touching story, and it has good ending. In addition, Readers can find many positive life attitudes in this book, such as Deniel. Even though he lost his parents and faces a poor life, he still keep optimistic. Certainly, this book also reminds me to cherish my present life. My favorite quote is, “Sometimes your know, but you don’t want to know. The truth is too sharp, too heavy, too near” These lyrics show a truth that people always like to escape reality. The main character Nelson is a very kind man. Even though he come from a rich family, he still concern about poor people’s lives and want to help them. Today, many people just concern their own life and work. Nelson really has a noble quality. 

Ode To Orange

In the winter,

the air of indoor is dry,

and the earth went into sleep

everything becomes silent, 

suddenly, 

the aroma of the oranges is filled with indoors,

the air is filled with sweet, fresh scents,

it inspires everyone get rid of sleepiness,

It is like a ray of spring

warm and sweet

driving the winter cold. 

Sentence Present

1. Last month, Ting went to Thailand to travel, and she found many special and delicious foods.

2. After she came back, she gave Hailey a present, and he was very happy.

3. However, when Hailey opened this present, he was surprised because it smells like a rotten food.

4. He found that the present is a pack of yellow candy. Ting explained the candy tastes like a fruit flavor, and this fruit is durian which is a very popular fruit in Southeast Asia. 

5. Although Hailey did not like the smell of candy, he still tasted one. And then, he found the taste better than imagined.  

Thinking under the Star

        Whenever I look at the stars, I feel the universe is so wide and human are so small. Did you appear the same idea with me? Did you imagine that aliens are really existing in other planets. In the library, people can find a lot of books that about UFO events and aliens, but most of them finally were identified as fake. However, humans have never stopped exploring the footsteps of outer space. Recently a news states that the scientists have discovered a planet, and its environment is very similar to the earth. Scientists said, future humans may emigrate to other planets. Today, science and technology is growing faster and faster. It significantly improves people’s lives. However, it also brings some debates. For example, does the appearance of artificial intelligence means that many people will lose their jobs. Is a good thing or bad thing to find aliens? I think that the progress of science and technology is a good thing, but people have to be very careful treatment of it. 

        One aspect is that some scientists warn humans to stop exploring aliens because they are likely to hurt humans, such as Stephen Hawking. I have read a science fiction that named the Three-Body Problem. The fiction tells alien invading the earth. The author of the fiction makes a point of view that aliens are more stronger than humans. When they find earth, they will also occupy it. Certainly, people can watch a lot of  this kind of movies. This point of view may have some pessimistic, but it is impossible. Today, if people want, they even can travel to Mars. However, I think that people still have a lot things unknown, so they should consider different opinions, and carefully make a decision. 

      Another aspect is that science and technology not only bring many benefits, but also bring many social problems and ethical issues. For example, the advent of Internet let people’s communication become more convenient, and they can get information easily. However, people find it also contributes to the expansion of terrorism. Today, many terrorists also contact and plan terrorist activities through the Internet. Thus, how to control terrorism on the Internet that has become a big problem. In addition, science and technology also bring some ethical issues. West world is a hot TV drama in last year, This story is about the robot gradually awakened, and had their own consciousness. Eventually they want to overthrow the rule of mankind for them. Actually, some scientist think it might happen in the near future.  Artificial intelligence is a new revolution, it will change the whole world, but it also can destroy mankind.

     In conclusion, science and technology make people's lives better, but they also bing some risks. Certainly, most people have a positive attitude for the progress of science and technology. Now, people are easy to buy any thing that comes from the world, but they consume resources faster and faster. Form a long term, humans should cherish all the resources, including water, oil, wood, and animal, and consider for their offspring. Even though human’s science and technology are getting more and more developed, they still have to respect the nurtural and always with a grateful heart.

Mind of the Dialogue

       

    I think that writing like a dialogue with your own mind. In daily life, people are always busy with all kinds of things, such as working, dating, or studying. Therefore, they are difficultly to calm down, and to censor themselves. Writing is a process of thinking, and you can fly yourself and find yourself. Writing can improve your insight and empathy. You can have a pair of eyes that find the beauty of life.

Writing comes from personal life. My writing is about my life experiences and opinions. It reflects my thoughts at that times, and also records my mood. I think that writing is a treasure for my life. A couple years later, when I look back at my own writing, It will be quite interesting. Wring also records my growth. In addition, when I calm down to write, I can hear the voice from my mind that what I really want.

Missing the spring of my hometown

the land becomes a sea of blossoming rape plants

flowers are filled in the air

the children play in the flowers

distant smoke rises

the old man shouts the child to go home for dinner
